Merry Christmas!
Dec 26th, 2006 by Ionia
Well, it’s the day after Christmas, but Merry Christmas anyways. I mentioned to my brother a few days ago that I seem to have impeccable luck at arriving home just in time to help him move every time, which is what I spent today doing. It was nice to get up and move around a bit since I haven’t really gotten any exercise recently, but now my legs are exhausted. The crazy fool’s old apartment was on the fourth floor and he has a ton of stuff. I hope he can handle everything that’s left because I’m sick of carrying boxes up and down all those stairs while everybody else just packs more stuff in to boxes. Ok, not really, but I hate moving and I just got done moving myself back up to Virginia. Of course, as soon as I find a job, I’ll probably have to move again. What a lovely time of it I’m having.
I probably should have put a link to it up here when I uploaded it, but I put my group’s final project up, so check it out. It’s a neat little 3d rail shooter inside a large space mothership. It could definitely use a lot more polish, but we had some major time constraints for what we wanted to do and things didn’t always go so smoothly, so I’m reasonably happy with what we turned out. I think the name we used is kinda dumb, but we couldn’t convince some of the sillier group members to let us change it to something else, so it stuck. Honestly, we didn’t have any good suggestions anyways. I’ll put up some code snippets at some point, but some of my group members have reservations about putting the entire source code online, so it will just be stuff I worked on.
I also spent a bunch of time trying out different Wordpress plugins that will make galleries for you from a tree of folders on your web server. Maybe I just have really picky needs, but there were only two that I found that did kind of what I wanted and the one I finally settled on, Lazyest Gallery, isn’t being supported anymore, but I like it enough that I picked it over all the others. Hopefully by the time it needs to be updated, someone will have taken over maintenance or made something similar. You can see how it looks on some of the other posts and I’ll throw up an awesome picture from a post on Joystiq featuring two of my favorite games, Katamari Damacy and Shadow of the Colossus, mixed in a delicious fashion.
Hi there,
I have just spotted your remark about Lazyest Gallery.
By the time you want to move to wordpress 2.5, you can download a new version at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/lazyest-gallery/
